Robots for Distant Musicians
Created during Yann Seznec‘s residency at the Game Lab, Robots for Distant Musicians is based around a set of musically responsive robots. They dance, play games, and explore, controlled entirely by musical melodies played by people around the world.
The project will culminate in an online show (now archived on YouTube) on July 20th at 2pm EST followed by a public ROBOT FIELD DAY on July 21st where anyone can jump in and play the robots all day on Discord.
The robots can be controlled in real time by anyone in the world via Discord or Zoom. They can be used for freeform exploration, gameplay, or any number of other surprising interactions.
All project code and technical information regarding the robots is available on Yann’s GitHub.
