LARP Workshop by Allison Cole
What comes to mind when you’re asked to picture a Larp? Who is there? What is happening? Where is it? Or do you have no concrete idea at all?
In this two-day workshop, students took the time to explore the broad and diverse world of Larping: from entire wizarding colleges with hundreds of participants to self-reflective games you play alone in your bedroom.
Students spent the first day interacting with the medium as players and examined structures that have been developed for enhancing play experiences. Participants also played Here Is My Power Button, an intimate near-future game about relationships, identity, and power where players embody AI and the humans who choose to train them.
On Day Two participants engaged with the practice of Larp design, creating a series of micro larps.
