Hybrid Games Studio
Hybrid Games is collaborative studio between the MICA Game Lab and Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering’s Computer Science department. In the studio, students work together in teams to develop games that are a mix of table top and digital games in order to explore how new technologies can create novel forms of play.
The studio examines how rapid prototyping of digital and analog games can influence and improve a game’s design with the goal of creating games that combine the social interaction of table top games with the complexity of digital games.
In the last iteration of the course, students worked with the Lenovo Horizon table PC, a 21.5″ computer with multi-touch capability. Students worked in 4 to 6 people teams to create game for 3-4 players.
